BELGIUM -- From 2 June to 29 July 2012, the exhibition “Sint-Jan” (“Saint John”) will be held at Saint Bavon’s Cathedral in the Belgian city of Ghent. The exhibition is focusing on the religious and spiritual aspect of contemporary art. Its curators, Jan Hoet and Hans Martens, chose the Cathedral, which was formerly known as Saint John’s. Jan Hoet played a major role in the exhibition’s conception. Thanks to his involvement, an impressive selection of prestigious artists will be participating in the event at Saint Bavon’s Cathedral, including Bruce Nauman, Damien Hirst, Meehdi-Georges Lahlou, and Wim Delvoye. The exhibition is unusual as the artists are not being paid for their involvement. [link]
