RELIGIOUS ART | NEWS OF WEEK

ALPHA OMEGA ARTS
By Ernest O. Britton
Do you remember the fun times you had in your family growing up? Why? Because we love to be with family. Why did God create Man? God created Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Jews, Muslims and others to be part of His family. Our religious differences don't matter. What matters is our kinship as children of God. For that reason, threats made to destroy Djingareyber Mosque (above), make it the NEWS OF WEEK.

In other Religious Art news from across the USA, and the world:
  • Christian artist (and radical), William Blake was honored as A&O's July Artist of Month. [CHRISTIAN NEWS]
  • Hasidic Jews taught the world how to keep cool, and keep the faith during heatwave. [JUDAIC NEWS]
  • Islamic fundamentalists in Africa attacked religious sites of their sister faith, Sufi Islam. [ISLAMIC NEWS]
  • Ancient Buddhist statues were rescued but then destroyed at a Police Station. [BUDDHIST NEWS]
  • Movie inspired by a branch of Hinduism sparked controversy in India. [HINDU NEWS]
  • Pre-Columbian religious artifact looting in Honduras in the news. [OTHER FAITHS]
WANT MORE interfaith art news? Get your daily dose of Alpha Omega Arts on Facebook and/or Twitter, or just come back each day. We also invite you to join us and to "vote" for the 2012 A&O Prize for Contemporary Religious Art, and to invite a friend to join too! Member's vote, and membership is "free". It's another great way to keep up with gatherings of like-minded people who share your interest in Religious Art. After all, who is Religious Art for? Yes, it's for Believers, but also Skeptics too!

I tried again to write my comment about Africa which I did. But I still don't know how to send it. Would you please give me the correct steps after I complete my comment in the box. What do you do next? Love, mom
