UNITED KINGDOM---A new style of calligraphy has come to Bradford for an autumn exhibition. "Breathing Calligraphy" by noted artist Razwan Ul-Haq is an exhibition dedicated to Islamic calligraphy. Ul-Haq, known for running Islamic Art in schools for many years, has set out to capture what he calls “'the spiritual significance of the Islamic calligraphic aesthetic". Passionate about engaging people, he has written for teacher magazines and regularly contributes to education conferences. After travelling to the Middle East, Ul-Haq went on to pioneer a calligraphic form that draws from the minimalist tradition in Islamic Art, contemporary artists and near Eastern calligraphy. [link]
