Islamic Artist, Ismail Md Zain Spreads Divine Messages Through Digital Paintings

MALAYSIA---Artist Ismail Md Zain, who is known for his digital Arabic calligraphy works, is having his first solo exhibition in Balai Berita at the New Straits Times Press headquarters in Bangsar. Entitled "At-tayyibah", which means a good word, the exhibition features a total of 34 pieces of art featuring Quranic verses, takbir, shahadah, zikir, asmaul husna, and even the Al-fatihah and Al-ikhlas. The Arabic calligraphy, or khat as it is commonly known, are all printed digitally on canvas using high- resolution inkjet printing technology. Ismail explained that his aim is to deliver Allah's messages through his digital works of art. "I hope people will be reminded of God's greatness when they see my art," said the 57-year-old.
