"Joyful Mystery #1: Annunciation" by James Janknegt
TEXAS --- Today marks exactly nine-months until Christmas, otherwise known as the "The feast of the Annunciation of the Lord." This Christian holyday celebrates the angel Gabriel's appearance to the Virgin Mary, where he announced that the Blessed Virgin had been chosen to be the Mother of God. The painting, "Joyful Mystery #: Annunciation" (above) is by James B. Janknegt. He was born in Austin, Texas and attened art school at the Univeristy of Texas in Austin. A self-described "Jesus Freak," James is also the building manager for the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin.
