GERMANY---A woman walks past the works "Ekstase (1929, L)" (Ecstasy) and "Verlorenes Paradies (1921)" (Lost Paradise) by German-Danish painter Emil Nolde during a preview of the artist's retrospective on March 4, 2014 at the Staedel museum in Frankfurt am Main, western Germany. Encompassing paintings, watercolors and printed works, the exhibition running from March 5 to June 15, 2014 aims to highlight also Nolde’s early work and his late achievements. Numerous hitherto unknown paintings and graphic works among the approximately 140 exhibits on display will offer insights into the expressionist’s production. [link]
