Sotheby's Judaic Art Auction Raises Millions for The Shpilman Institute for Photography in Tel Aviv

NEW YORK---Yesterday, December 4, 2014, Sotheby’s auctioned a selection of Israeli sacred and secular art totally $3,583,189. Highlighting the sale were examples by Israel’s premiere painters and sculptors, including Mordecai Ardon, Charles Sorlier (after Marc Chagall, Yaacov Agam, Avigdor Arikha, Arieh Aroch and Menasche Kadishman. A special feature of this sale was a collection of eleven works by contemporary Israeli photographers, including Ilit Azoulay, Sharon Ya’ari, Ori Gersht and Adi Nes. The works were sold to benefit The Shpilman Institute for Photography in Tel Aviv.
