Indie studio Tale of Tales has officially given up games, but it hasn’t given up its passion for communicating via digital art. But their studio – still going by the name Tale of Tales – has surfaced again on Kickstarter with a fascinating new project. Not for a game, but rather an ambitious work of art created with game technology and viewed in part in virtual reality. Dubbed Cathedral-in-the-Clouds, it’s a digital installation inspired by medieval Christian art. Viewers are meant to enjoy its multiple works in much the same way they would physical art in a museum, by moving around and examining them – only via a VR headset or other type of screen. [link]
Cathedral-in-the-Clouds is a digital art project that will allow audiences to explore a virtual cathedral in virtual reality and examine multiple detailed dioramas contained within.
