Collector Spotlight: Barnaby Barford's "Christian Book Shop" #2201

ALPHA OMEGA ARTS
Gregory Disney-Britton holds #2201 "The Tower of Babel" at his home in Indianapolis, Indiana from Barnaby Barford's "Tower of Babel"
British artist Barnaby Barford's "Tower of Babel" was created as a statement about the new religion of commercialism. Made of 3,000 bone china replicas of actual shops, the imposing 20 feet tall sculptural installation was created for London's V&A Museum, and each shop was then sold and shipped around the world. At its base, the shops are derelict while at its pinnacle are the crème-de-la-crème of London’s exclusive boutiques and galleries. Christies and Sotheby's are #0001 and #0002; and this Christian Book Shop, #2201 is now in the Disney-Britton home in Indianapolis. [More]
