Indiana Governor Rejects Civil Rights for LGBT Christians

By Jordan Fischer

INDIANA---Gov. Mike Pence says he will not support any expansion of civil rights protections for LGBT Hoosiers that restricts religious freedom – his first official statement on such protections since they were proposed last year in the wake of the state's religious freedom law. "I will not support any bill that diminishes the religious freedom of Hoosiers or that interferes with the Constitutional rights of our citizens to live out their beliefs in worship, service or work," Pence said at his annual "State of the State" address Tuesday night.
