INDIA - "Palettes of Bhopal" is a six-day exhibition of paintings and drawings by three well known national artists in Jaipur (Rajasthan). Opening on November 25, it showcases 33 works of Teji Grover, Sanju Jain and Ranjit Arora and includes Grover's "Ladakh" series, Jain's "Gyan" (knowledge) portrayals, and Arora's tribal explorations. Sanju Jain is an explorative artist and using paper-pulp and clay, derives her "creative energies from nature". Teji Grover, poet-painter-fiction writer, paints in an "earth-friendly" way and plays with natural colors from flowers-spices-tree barks-berries-etc. Ranjit Arora interprets the "tribal origin of existence" and reflects the magical elements of primitive art. The three painters claim to have gravitated towards one another because "their works seem to have the same underbelly of a primal and pristine world that is at the edge of being lost." [link]
