Artist-magician unveils sculpture that is both a Star of David and a Christian cross

The French artist and 1991 world magic champion (!) Francis Tabary has crafted a magical sculpture that simultaneously forms the icons of the Jewish and Christian faiths: the Star of David and the cross. The untitled artwork — which uses a mirror to show the metal cross from an angle at which it forms a perfect six-pointed star — is the latest in the artist’s “Impossible Sculptures” series, which had previously featured the image of the Star of David, and consists of works that hybridize of the Op art abstraction of Victor Vasarely and the visual illusions of M.C. It was a maximalist experience for two minimalists who love to collect. We sold off multiple collections, including snow globes, Mary sculptures, paperweights, Disney plates, nutcrackers, 21c penguins, walking canes, and 100 prints and paintings! Most of it was in storage, but plenty was on display. We did it by inviting our community of artists and collectors to an estate sale before opening it to the public. Museum Calls Off Kehinde Wiley Show, Citing Assault Allegations
