Obama Outlines Strategy to Destroy Islamic State

WASHINGTON, DC---In a closely-watched speech to the nation on Wednesday evening U.S. President Obama announced that airstrikes targeting Islamic State, the militant outfit that now controls large swathes of Iraq and Syria would expand into Syria and that that 475 additional personnel would arrive soon in Iraq to serve as “military advisers.” Mr. Obama did not mince his words in hitting out at IS’ claims to legitimacy, saying the organisation “is not ‘Islamic,’ [as] no religion condones the killing of innocents, and the vast majority of ISIL’s victims have been Muslim.” [link]
