OHIO---It's back: After a controversial, yearlong pause for a re-evaluation, Cuyahoga County's public arts funding organization is offering $15,000 individual grants to artists through the Creative Workforce Fellowship program. But the program will still be coordinated through the nonprofit Community Partnership for Arts and Culture, the education, research and advocacy organization that led the fellowships starting in 2009, their first year. The re-evaluation of the program was controversial because some artists feared it would be cut even further or eliminated. Others balked at the possibility that artists would be required to show how their work benefited the community. [link]
