INDIANA---Are you willing to re-consider how religion, spirituality, sacred text, and the divine affect you beyond the ideas you already hold about them? "Interrupting The Sermon" is a Fringe Festival play that uses stories, poems, and a sermon to explore how we've lost religion as we've  re-created it. It's based on the last sermon of Dr. Wayne C. Olson, a college campus minister (d. 2013). The evolutionary "interruptions" in the play include the baptizing of an AIDS patient, an anti-nuke rally, and a gunman during Sunday service. While there are a number of worthy art-meets-religion pieces in this year's IndyFringe, most notably "The Eulogy," this one tops our list. [Tickets]
