Alpha & Omega Project for Contemporary Religious Arts Salutes 2020 Artist of Year: Michael Cook

Image
ALPHA OMEGA ARTS By Gregory & Ernest Disney-Britton   Michael Cook in his Derbyshire studio in front of his 2013 painting, "An Idle Tale" depicting the women coming the tell the doubtful disciples the good news of Christ's resurrection. The UK-artist Michael Cook is the 2020 Alpha Omega Artist of the Year for " Christ Weeps Over Lazarus ." Sponsored by our  Alpha & Omega Project for Contemporary Religious Arts , each year, readers vote to recognize one artist's impact on America's religious and spiritual dialogue over the last 12-months. During this Covid-19 pandemic, Cook's "Lazarus" clearly resonated with readers as we all consider our own resurrections. We purchased our first  of his prints in 2019, but it's your vote that made Michael Cook the artist of the year!
