INDIANA---When most people talk about the arts, they talk in terms of entertainment. Of enjoyment and beauty. We gush over a documentary we watched at the Indianapolis Museum of Art as part of the Indy Film Fest. Or we praise performances by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra or at IndyFringe. Or we stop and stare at the murals painted in honor of the Super Bowl. All of these things add value to Indianapolis. But what kind of value? How much is it worth? The answer is about $384 million a year. That's the finding of a study released Wednesday by Americans for the Arts. Honestly, I was surprised. [link]
