INDIANA---Dr. & Artist He Qi and other leaders from the arts & religious communities are coming to Indiana Interchurch Center on Thursday, January 16 at 7 pm for an exclusive opportunity to explore the intersections of religion, art, and culture. In addition, an exhibition of his work will be on view at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Frankfort, from January 17 through March 2. As part of his exhibition at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, he will deliver an artist talk Friday, January 17 at 7pm. When, at the launch of the Cultural Revolution, He Qi was sent by the Chinese Communist Party to a communal farm, he taught himself to paint images of Chairman Mao as a way to escape a life of hard labor and servitude.
