'Spiritual' Designs Spur Desert Hot Springs to Censor Religious Art

COLORADO---Local artist Yudit Ecsedy faces what could be the Coachella Valley’s first city policy banning religious art in public places. The images of winged, haloed figures she calls only “spiritual” and proposed to grace utility boxes around Desert Hot Springs concern the City Council. That prompted a unanimous vote this week to revise the city’s public art policy to not allow what could be considered religious themes.[link]
