Anila Agha Explores Social and Gender-based Issues at 924 Gallery in Indianapolis
ALPHA OMEGA ARTS
INDIANA---Gallery 924 presents Anila Quayyum Agha's "Quicksand: Landscape of the Feminine," an exhibition of new works from April 4 through 25. Agha's work includes collage drawings and installations that explore how social and gender-based issues result from the concepts constructed by history, religion, and contemporary norms. These complicated social issues inspire her textile processes, in particular, embroidery. Gallery 924 is a program of the Arts Council of Indianapolis, 924 N. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, IN 46204; (317) 631-3301; indyarts.org/gallery924.
