ITALY---Ruth Schreiber's hand-built porcelain work “Love Letter” is inspired by the practice of over one million slips of paper containing written prayers that are slipped into the crevices of the Western Wall each year. "Love Letter" is included in the exhibition “Hear O Israel” in the Omero Museum, Alcona, Italy, as part of the European Day of Jewish Culture 2014, running from Sept 14th-28th. In Judaism, the Western Wall also known as the Wailing Wall, lies on the Temple Mount and is venerated as the sole remnant of the Jewish people's ancient Holy Temple.
