"Thank God" (2011) by Gerald Ivey
Gerald Ivey is a native of Florida who studied art in Atlanta, Georgia. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate the first Monday of Black History Month than his "Thank God." According to Ivey's website: "At an early age, he exhibited exceptional artistic abilities. Throughout elementary school and high school, his teachers and schoolmates relied upon him to create bulletin boards, banners, and logos. Their approval and appreciation of his artistic acumen encouraged him to spend hundreds of hours practicing various art forms and techniques."

Thought for Today: What are you thankful for this year?
