Columbus Museum of Art to hold celebration of life for Aminah Robinson

OHIO---A celebration of life for Columbus artist Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson will take place on July 18 at the Columbus Museum of Art. The time will be announced later. Robinson — a prolific multimedia artist, teacher and storyteller whose works captured both the spirit and the African-American populace of her Near East Side neighborhood, especially Poindexter Village — died on May 22 at 75. She created paintings, sculptures, drawings and books reflecting stories she had been told. In 2004, she was awareded a “genius” grant from the MacArthur Foundation. [link]
