De Buck Gallery is proud to present a solo booth by
Devan Shimoyama, featuring all new paintings and the launch of a new print series. The 2 larger works that will be featured are part of a new series that Shimoyama is working on, titled
The Reading List. The series consists of portrait paintings of black identifying individuals in their homes, reading a variety of texts that have been recommended to Shimoyama, or books that have been important or significant in some way. This presentation is timely given his solo exhibition, "
Devan Shimoyama: Cry, Baby," currently on view at The
Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA through March 17, 2019. [
