Holy Week 2020 With Kelvin Burzon of Indiana

ALPHA OMEGA ARTS
Mary Magdalene
Originally scheduled from February 6 through April 10, in Wabash College's Eric Dean Gallery, "Noli Me Tangere: Lamentations by Kelvin Burzon" closed early to the public to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Noli Me Tangere, “touch me not” or “don’t thread on me,” (Latin) is a series of photographs that examines the intersection of homosexuality and religion. Named after a seminal novel by Philippine hero and martyr: Jose Rizal, the photographs extend a conversation concerning repressions brought by religion, culture, and politics. In 2017, Burzon was honored with the Alpha & Omega Prize for Contemporary Religious Art for work that promotes contemporary religious dialogue. The award is determined by readers of the Alpha Omega Arts news blog.
