After two weeks of art auctions that have yielded uneven results in London, Christie’s Old Master and 19th century paintings, drawings, and watercolors sale put in a solid effort. For instance, Giovani Bellini’s Madonna and Child in a Landscape, which edged out its 2.5–3.5 million estimate with the addition of the buyer’s premium, selling for $5.3 million, an all-time high for the artist at auction.
