Munch's "Madonna" at Auction

A hand-colored iconic lithograph, the Madonna (1895) by Edvard Munch; depicted by the artist's mistress, was sold at auction for nearly $2 million (£1,252,000), nearly twice the lower estimate. It is the largest amount ever paid at auction for one the Norwegian impressionist's lithographs and according to Art Daily, it is the second most expensive print in the world.
