Kai and I visited with Uncle Sam for over an hour last night. He seems so content in his chair, sitting by the sunny window. We had a nice visit~ or maybe it was the peach sundae we brought him! He devoured it! We talked about Mom a little bit and her peach cobbler! We also left a few treats for him in his top drawer--small packs of cookies, etc. if you wonder where they came from!
I think we should get a plant for the corner, a few pictures for the wall, etc. as we talked about. I'll get the plant at the wholesaler.
Aunt Kaye, you put so much work into finding just the perfect spot for Uncle Sam! With all of the site visits, paperwork, legal work, doctor visits, etc. that you had to do to get to this point I know you are probably exhausted, but I hope that you have a certain contentment too, knowing that Uncle Sam is safe and well cared for even when you are at work.
During this time of transition, and always, but particularly now, if you need anything at anytime we are always here for you.
Love you much!
Mike

WHY WOULD HE SAY THIS?
Thanks for your note. I am sure everyone who loves Uncle Sam & Aunt Kaye, as you do, appreciates the optimistic tone and the affirmation of Aunt Kaye. Uncle Sam must have finished up the cookies by the time I got there (no sign of them!). Thank you & our son, for being his first visitors; and thanks also to Verdell and Karen for being with him (and Aunt Kaye and Obie) during the original visit. When Greg, my mom and I finally got there, he looked brighter-eyed than I've seen in months. It was awesome to see, and Aunt Kaye must have moved-in because she was there, as she has been every time I've called for the past few days. Anyway, thanks!

I saw him yesterday evening. He was actually already in bed, but awake. I walked in and sat next to his bed and said, "Uncle Sam, it's Gina. Do you know who I am?" He looked up at me with his bright eyes and said "Why wouldn't I know who you are Miss Gina?".....too funny....I laughed and told him he was absolutely right!
By the way, the facility is beautiful and you can tell that much thought went into the planning to be sure it feels like "home" vs. an assisted living facility. The Starbucks cafe is an awesome touch. I agree that it is the perfect spot, and is what other facilities should aspire to emulate. Aunt Kaye and Obie, please let me know if you need anything. Luv ya, Gina :)

First off, thank you for spending time with my Uncle Sam, never the less, Please be advised, I do not want to receive any email from you at all. Since I was a child, you have been a nasty ass person to my family. As I'm sure Ern has told you, I consider you a true cancer to any family you touch. I have seen your disrespect first hand and My advice to You is if you want to get something off your chest be man enough to say it and then get the fuck over it. BUT if you can't Mike, and you want to be angry at someone bring that same BS to me, I'm not as passive as my father. That is a gift God blessed him with and I think I missed that blessing.
I don't know what type of relationship you have with your father but Im close with mine. He's asked you to take him off your list and I would appreciate if you would show some respect and do what he said. As, I told Ern, my parents are getting older and I think they have earned the right to have peace and not some punk ass grudge held against them. Rather you respect that is not important. A good man once said a you can tell a lot about a man by his relationships with his parents.
Thanks,
Jason Britton

I hope so, if not you know where to address any issue you may have. As long as thats clear, were all good. But man to man don't ever let me see you disrespect my parents or my sister again. That I wont repeat. Enjoy your day

We all have our "truth" Jason; it is obvious you have your reality--I have mine-- and let me assure you I have never borrowed money that I have not paid back, nor have I ever declared bankruptcy--leaving someone else holding the bill.
I understand your anger at me--we just see the situation so very differently.
Enough said. I will not receive nor read another email from you; as your father asked me, now I ask you, please do not send me another email.
Awww...Thanks for sending these to me. I was almost regretting next weeks final 5 chronicles. Now I've been refueled. Where did his venom come from? Well, I'm sure Oscar copied him on his note. The important lesson is that "Love Makes a Family," and you are part of the Family that matters... not Jason...and certainly not his Dad. Oh, how next week's Chronicles will piss them off. I hope you enjoy them.
