CALIFORNIA - If Christians are to believe that God created everything, then we must accept that He created everything, not just the attractive. And if we are to praise him in everything, we cannot just make art that we consider "pretty" and leave the darker subjects to the non-Christians. No, like the Renaissance painters of old, we must span a wider gamut of expression and delve into topics which may seem dark or unattractive. After all, we extol the virtue of enduring hardship; why would this not be a place to practice that virtue? Art is always beautiful, but it is not always pretty. The sooner we accept this fact, the sooner we can be proud of our God-given ability to create. [link]
