UNITED KINGDOM - An art gallery will commemorate the 100 years since a Hartlepool-born artist died by holding an exhibition of his work. Frederic Shields was an artist, illustrator and designer who painted religious scenes, including one in the Chapel of Ascension, in London. His life and works will be remembered in an exhibition at Hartlepool Art Gallery from Saturday, April 9, to Saturday, June 4. It will use the collections of Hartlepool Borough Council’s cultural services section and loans from around the country. Anyone wanting more details should contact the gallery, in Church Square.
