Religious Art Show at N.E. Pennsylvania Church

PENNSYLVANIA - "Art and the Divine," a religiously themed show, opens this weekend at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in North East. The show features paintings by three North East artists: Mary Ann Larsen, Bryan Toy and Ruth Dennis. "It is an important and inspirational thing for Easter," Larson said. The free show will open Sunday with coffee and desserts from 2:30 to 4 p.m. It will remain open Monday through April 23 and also April 25 from 12:30 to 4 p.m. See Saturday's Erie Times-News and GoErie.com for more coverage. It was a maximalist experience for two minimalists who love to collect. We sold off multiple collections, including snow globes, Mary sculptures, paperweights, Disney plates, nutcrackers, 21c penguins, walking canes, and 100 prints and paintings! Most of it was in storage, but plenty was on display. We did it by inviting our community of artists and collectors to an estate sale before opening it to the public. Museum Calls Off Kehinde Wiley Show, Citing Assault Allegations

Bates for The New York Times The Minneapolis Institute of Art announced Thursday that it had decided not to move forward with a planned Kehinde Wiley exhibition, citing recent allegations of sexual misconduct against the artist, which he has denied.
