Lecture on Replica of "La Pieta" on Friday in New Jersey

NEW JERSEY - Resurrection Parish, a Roman Catholic Church in Randolph NJ, is the first venue in the mid Atlantic region to exhibit and host an informative art lecture on life-size replica of Michelangelo's masterpiece, La Pieta, May 13 at 8 p.m. The sculpture is cast from a prototype made from a mold of the original located in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and is on display now through May 31. The art lecture will be conducted by Ms. Ivannia Vega-McTighe, a current Ph.D. candidate in Art History at Rutgers University, NJ. It was a maximalist experience for two minimalists who love to collect. We sold off multiple collections, including snow globes, Mary sculptures, paperweights, Disney plates, nutcrackers, 21c penguins, walking canes, and 100 prints and paintings! Most of it was in storage, but plenty was on display. We did it by inviting our community of artists and collectors to an estate sale before opening it to the public. Museum Calls Off Kehinde Wiley Show, Citing Assault Allegations

Bates for The New York Times The Minneapolis Institute of Art announced Thursday that it had decided not to move forward with a planned Kehinde Wiley exhibition, citing recent allegations of sexual misconduct against the artist, which he has denied.
