AOA NEWS
INDIANA - "After...Life" (above) by EJaaz Collins is the Staff Pick: Video of the Week. His work was awarded the second prize in the 2011 A&O Prize for Youth Art Contest as part of last week's Spirit & Place Festival exhibit in Indianapolis. Collins, a Senior at Broad Ripple Magnet High School in Indianapolis said his work, both imagery and music, "symbolizes complacency with the world I live in. Aspiring for more through Art. Being patient and creating as a way to ascend to a higher place of understanding which is only granted by death." The three Finalists received news of their A&O Prize scholarship decisions on Saturday, November 12. The video will remain on display at the Indiana Interchurch Center Gallery through December 31 as part of the "Beyond Dead: A Youth Response" exhibition.
