Works by Poet-Photographer John Sherman on display through March 30

"Elegy for Mobutu" by John Sherman
INDIANA - More than 30 large-framed "poetic photographic renditions," posters featuring the poetry and photograph's of John Sherman are now on display at the Indiana Interchurch Center (IIC Gallery). "Three Journeys: That Redefined Lives #2: John Sherman" may be viewed a the Indiana Interchurch Center gallery through March 30. The poetry and images are inspired by Sherman's growing up on farm in Indiana, followed by travels around the world beginning with the Peace Corp (Africa, Asia, South America, etc). An artist reception will be held on Thursday, March 8 at 5:30 p.m. Ginger Bievenour, IIC guest curator called the works, "quite provocative and will cause viewers to think about their own views." Indiana Interchurch Center is located at 1100 West 42nd Street, Indianapolis, Indiana across from the Indianapolis Museum of Art. [link]
