I understand that David Mach is not religious? I don't know if that means he also doesn't belive in Jesus Christ but my prayer today is that he find a deeper connection with Christ for himself, as he has helped others develop through his artwork. He may be an example of artists who create religious art to "get paid" (see post below) but imagine what the pieces would be like if he did believe?
The second night of Holy Week services was even more memorable than the day prior.
It began at 5pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church, near our home, for their annual street walk & re-enactment of the Walk of the Cross by the Latino congregants. It began and concluded at the church.
At 8pm we joined a High Church service at the Christ Cathedral on Monument Circle. It was breath-takingly beautiful worship experience. The choral song (evensong), candles, synchronized program of readings and the extinquishing of the candles until we ended the night in total darkness singing "Were you there when they crucified my Lord." It left me trembling as a reminder of his example of how to surrender all. Thank you God.
I love Easter Week. And I love Fasting because of how vunerable it makes me to feel the experience.
