Young artist painted Pres. Obama as a Nun to protest religious favorism

EAGLE TRIBUNE
By Paul Tennant
NEW HAMPSHIRE - You're likely to do a double take when you first cast your eyes on the image. When you look at the 3 1/2-by-2-foot painting, you see a tall nun, dressed in a traditional black and white habit. Then you look a bit closer and — yikes! — it's President Obama! This eye-catching work was created by Luke Lombardo, a North Andover High School senior. Lombardo's intent was not to ridicule the president or people who have dedicated themselves to religious life. Rather, he wanted to express a message. "We need greater separation of church and state," he explained. The government tends to favor some religions over others, he said. [link]
