Review: The Avengers (3+ Stars)

ALPHA OMEGA ARTS
By Greg Disney
As someone who traditionally doesn't like Science Fiction, I enjoyed every bit of this film. I'm told that "The Avengers" is the movie sci-fi fans have been waiting years for, and they certainly got what they'd been waiting to see. Marvel did a a great job introducing me to a team I only recall from Saturday morning cartoons, and I can't wait for the sequel. My favorite two scenes both involved the Hulk -- the Hulk with Thor and the Hulk with the evil Loki, but you probably already know that because you saw it too. Everyone in Indiana was there, so I assume it must have been the same across the country. Great job, and great fun!

“Marvel’s The Avengers” spent about $220 million to make the film and at least another $100 million on global marketing. This weekend, they took in about $200.3 million (including $20 from us) at North American theaters over the weekend, smashing the movie industry record, set last summer by “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” for the biggest opening weekend of all time.
