Cincinnati Art Museum salutes leading American religious artist, Henry Ossaw Tanner‎

OHIO -- One of the first black American artists to gain an international reputation, Henry Ossawa Tanner is best-known for his evocative religious paintings and his depictions of African-American life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. “Henry Ossawa Tanner: Modern Spirit,” an exhibit at the Cincinnati Art Museum, celebrates his enormous accomplishments and influence, thoroughly documenting his life and work with more than 100 paintings, photographs and sculptures. [link]
