Green Lantern comes out as Gay, after 70 years in closet

DC Comics has announced that it will debut the Green Lantern as the first openly gay male character in its comic books in order to push aside "prejudice barriers" and provide a "positive" gay role model. Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern, will come out as gay next week in the latest issue "Earth 2" which has remade the character into a younger version of himself. Scott's first comic appearance came in "All-American Comics" No. 16 in July 1940. [link]

It was a maximalist experience for two minimalists who love to collect. We sold off multiple collections, including snow globes, Mary sculptures, paperweights, Disney plates, nutcrackers, 21c penguins, walking canes, and 100 prints and paintings! Most of it was in storage, but plenty was on display. We did it by inviting our community of artists and collectors to an estate sale before opening it to the public. Museum Calls Off Kehinde Wiley Show, Citing Assault Allegations

Bates for The New York Times The Minneapolis Institute of Art announced Thursday that it had decided not to move forward with a planned Kehinde Wiley exhibition, citing recent allegations of sexual misconduct against the artist, which he has denied.
