INDIANA---Opening today is the "2012 A&O Prize for Youth"--- the concluding exhibition of a three-month  interfaith youth arts program sponsored by the Alpha & Omega Project for Contemporary Religious Arts, the Center for Interfaith Cooperation, Indiana Interchurch Center, and the Spirit & Place Festival. The exhibition at the IIC Gallery runs November 4 through December 31, 2012.

Guided by the theme of "Play" and inspired by words from Rabbi Sandy Sasso, “No matter how busy we are, we are to set aside a day for leisure. We take a deep breath, let go, let be and play. It is not a friendly suggestion; it is a divine commandment,” twenty-five students participated in the  program which culminates with this exhibition reflecting on their experience. The student participants included equal numbers from Christian, Jewish, Hindu and Islamic congregations. Gallery visitors are invited, and encouraged to vote for the scholarship-winning entries from Sunday, November 4 through November 9, 2012 (onsite at IIC Gallery and also on Facebook).

The scholarship recepients will be announced on Saturday, November 10 as part of the group's concluding interfaith dialogue. We invite you to join us in supporting the student awards.
