We had a great weekend, but didn't see one thing that was planned, and I wouldn't take away anything we did to replace what we had planned. Our visits to NYC require some improvisation because there is so much to do in so little time to do it. Our hotel, Doubletree (Hilton) in Financial District though while impacted by the Hurricane worked perfectly for us. We like being near 911 area. Unplanned activities included a Palestinian vs. Zionist protest at Times Square and 5th Ave. shopping. We saw "Louis C. Tiffany and the Art of Devotion" at the Museum of Biblical Art because we missed "The Eruv" at Yeshiva University when it closed early on Friday (2:30pm) for the Jewish Sabbath. The Tiffany show is nice but not contemporary religious art. We also enjoyed "Evita" with Ricky Martin on Broadway but only because "Disgraced" at Lincoln Center was sold-out. Also I walked into MoMA but didn't want to wait 25-minutes to see "The Scream" or pay $25 just to see the Figure in the Garden" so we didn't. Lastly, for Sunday service, we worshiped at Trinity Church Wall Street (Episcopal) for high church near the hotel instead of making the journey uptown for Madison Avenue Baptist Church. The best part though was re-touring the old neighborhood on 77th UES where I lived and finally meeting one of the worshippers at the conservative Jewish temple across the street. When I lived there, I never had the nerve to do it. It was perfect.
