DELAWARE---As essential to Jewish wedding gestalt as the rabbi, chuppah (wedding canopy) and broken glass, the ketubah (pronounced k-too-bah) traditionally spells out the groom’s financial responsibilities to the bride in Aramaic text that has remained virtually unchanged for two millennia. Incidentally, June is a popular month for Jews to get married because it doesn’t conflict with major religious holidays. Just as ketubah text has evolved to reflect the diversity of the Jewish diaspora, so has the artistic value of the original prenuptial agreement. [link]
