INDIA---Artist Salva Rasool shares how she applies Arabic calligraphy on miniature canvases to transform them into statement jewellery. An art piece with ‘Allah’ written in modern Arabic, framed in gold, mounted on a watch glass and fashioned into a necklace of red corals and white Chalcedony stones — this happens when a painter and an expert on fine jewellery collaborate. When artist Salva Rasool met with jeweller Aneel Gajaria a few months back, she was sceptical about her paintings being incorporated into jewellery. [link]
