Movie Review: Black Man, White House, and History

HOLLYWOOD---Nobody who has seen “Shadowboxer,” “Precious” or, heaven knows, “The Paperboy” would mistake Lee Daniels for a realist. Nonetheless, his new film — released, as a result of a ridiculous film industry food fight, with the ungainly official title “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” — is a brilliantly truthful movie on a subject that is usually shrouded in wishful thinking, mythmongering and outright denial. “The Butler” has the historical insight and the generosity of spirit to honor the father and the son equally, and to look with skepticism at each’s point of view. “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Strong language, including racial slurs, and some violent scenes.

I'm going on Sunday with Ted and Carol. I'm excited to see it, such a great story about fathers and sons.
Astonishingly powerful performances throughout by a stellar cast. Whitaker and Winfrey were incredible but other s were great too. I am going back on Friday night.

Sorry, I would not watch that movie if it were free. My reasons are:

1. Anything that has Hanoi Jane Fonda in it is not acceptable. And to have her playing Nancy Reagan is an abomination. She should have been hanged for treason for her "aiding the enemies" activities. Check the veterans' reaction...they are boycotting the movie and condemning it.

2. It distorts the last honorable President we have had and makes him into a racist, which he definitely was not.

3. It distorts even the title character's (the Butler) life, by giving him two sons when he actually only had one son. From what I read it was done to further the propaganda we are constantly being fed by our media, our so-called entertainment, and worst of all, our elected officials.

It is no wonder I fear for the future of our country when people like you can applaud this travesty. I always respected you, but I cannot respect the forces that are destroying our wonderful country.
Went to see it again tonight with Greg and Pastor Vivian. I's even better a second time.
