Built around intimately-told personal stories of gay or lesbian members of the tradition, the film portrays a group of people who face a profound dilemma - how to reconcile their passionate love of Judaism and the Divine with the drastic Biblical prohibitions that forbids homosexuality. "Trembling Before G-d" doesn't claim to have answers, and that's the part that's most troubling to the men and women depicted in it.
