NEW YORK---This Wednesday, January 29 marks the return of the Renaissance sale at Christie’s at 2pm in New York during the series of sales dedicated to Old Master works of art, and there is a particularly newsworthy Madonna & Child in the mix. This is the second year for Renaissance, featuring works devoted to the artistic production that flourished in Europe from 1300 to 1600, this sale is led by Jacopo Bassano’s Adoration of the Shepherds (1562-63) with an estimate of $8,000,000-12,000,000. One of the other highlights of this sale is The Rothschild Prayerbook.
