OHIO---A Hindu idol on display at Ohio’s Toledo Museum of Art may have been stolen by the person that the museum purchased it from. This Ganesha idol, currently on display at the Toledo Museum of Art, may have been a stolen good. The idol in question is a statue of the Hindu deity Ganesha, sculpted out of bronze at some point around the 11th century A.D. According to local newspaper The Toledo Blade, the museum bought the artifact from Kapoor for $245,000. It is listed as one of 18 religious works of art missing from a small village in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. [link]
