NEW YORK---A&O will gather in NYC for the biannual visit during the weekend of April 25-28, 2014 and will meet at the Metropoliant Museum of Art for lunch and Buddhist art. A&O members will tour a jewel of a show called “Tibet and India: Buddhist Traditions and Transformations” which asks how a religion fading away in one place manages to find its way to and blossom in another.

This amazing exhibition explores Hinduism and Buddhism of the eleventh and twelfth centuries looking from the Indian perspective but my favorite three works are contemporary pieces: "Pin drop silence: Eleven-headed Avalokitesvara" by Tenzing Rigdol; "Dissected Buddha" by Gonkar Gyatso; and "Buddha 2" by Sopheap Pich.
