First Christian Church Donates to Endowment for Arts of Putnam County

Jenni Artis, chairman of the First Christian Church general board, presents $100 for the Jason Asbury Endowment for the Arts of Putnam County to Dean Gambill of the Putnam County Community Foundation.
INDIANA---First Christian Church held a benefit concert and ice cream social on Aug. 10. Church organist David Acton, a senior in the DePauw School of Music, spent the spring 2014 semester in Austria. He offered a concert of 10 pieces on the pipe organ, accompanied by photos of his travels. The audience contributed $100 to the Jason Asbury Endowment for the Arts of Putnam County at the Putnam County Community Foundation. [link]

It was a maximalist experience for two minimalists who love to collect. We sold off multiple collections, including snow globes, Mary sculptures, paperweights, Disney plates, nutcrackers, 21c penguins, walking canes, and 100 prints and paintings! Most of it was in storage, but plenty was on display. We did it by inviting our community of artists and collectors to an estate sale before opening it to the public.
