Nippert Trust Endows Cincinnati Art Museum Director Position

PHILANTHROPY---The Cincinnati Art Museum announced today a gift from the Louise Dieterle Nippert Trust to endow its director’s position, a post that will soon be filled by Cameron Kitchin, the ninth director in the institution’s 128-year history. Valued at more than $6 million, the endowment is one of the largest gifts ever given to the Art Museum. “Louise Dieterle Nippert has played a tremendous role in ensuring Greater Cincinnati remains a cultural arts destination, and her generosity and dedication to local arts institutions are immeasurable,” shared Marty Ragland, President of the Cincinnati Art Museum Board. It was a maximalist experience for two minimalists who love to collect. We sold off multiple collections, including snow globes, Mary sculptures, paperweights, Disney plates, nutcrackers, 21c penguins, walking canes, and 100 prints and paintings! Most of it was in storage, but plenty was on display. We did it by inviting our community of artists and collectors to an estate sale before opening it to the public.
